![]() I'm not sure if there are any harder factions in the game or more entertaining than Numidia. I've managed to take Rome in 20 years and secured my position in Northern Africa, Southern Italy and Sparta on vh/vh. Archers (especially in early-game) can change the outcome of the battle. Syracuse is the hardest faction I have every played. If you declare war on Carthage every time you move their armies and fleets hop in on your 2 towns and they have massive land armies and fleets togehter with their client states. If you declare war on Rome it is suicide. The only nice thing about Numidia is that one can get archers after 3 turns. Ive lost 12 hours trying to play this faction. Sure, there are camel riders that can beat cataphracts, but one mustn't fuck up the first charge or the cav will rout in a few seconds. Here your chance to command the exciting chariots of the deserts with a mix of infantry tied in an archer bow. Numidian legionaries are only available after 10 years or something (that's if you don't exterminate Carthage's population) and they're equal to principes, which are already available to Romans. After conquering pesky Rome from the old Senate men, you l probably just want to play as a completely different faction rather then be one of the mediocre Roman factions. Starting armies usually consist of javelinmen and javcav (skirmishing skills must be good)Ĭarthage, Rome, Egypt and Spain declare war in the first two turns.
